Mantra Rolling in the Art Studio
Sundays, 10.00am – 2.00pm
Mantras, meaning “mind protection”, are Sanskrit syllables, usually recited in conjunction with the practice of a particular meditational deity, and embody the qualities of the deity with which they are associated. They bring benefit to all who see, touch, hear or speak them.
Further, when you recite mantras with the correct motivation (the wish to benefit others), your speech becomes holy speech, capable of offering blessings to others.
Join us in the Art Studio for the relaxed and calm experience of mantra rolling. No experience necessary. Our Chenrezig Arts community will lead you through this inspiring practice.
For extensive advice from Lama Zopa Rinpoche about the benefits of reading, writing or reciting particular mantras, or how to engage with mantras to eliminate or reduce potential or ongoing obstacles, please visit the Lama Yeshe Wisdom Archive for Lama Zopa Rinpoches Online Advice Book and fpmt.org for advice from Lama Zopa Rinpoche.
Golden pen sutra writing
Sundays, 1.00pm – 3.00pm
“Even writing one letter from Prajnaparamita, even writing one letter, one syllable, the benefits are unbelievable, unbelievable, more than making extensive offerings, skies of extensive offerings to all the buddhas, so many eons, the merits you collect are unbelievable.” — Lama Zopa Rinpoche
Ven Thubten will facilitate the golden pen writing of sutras in the Tara Room each Sunday afternoon from 1.00pm – 3.00pm. Check the event calendar for any changes to the venue or timing.
