How your contribution helps:
Chenrezig Institute has come a long way since its humble beginnings in 1974.
Our programs at the Centre and on the coast now reach thousands of people per year. Consistent with our mission statement, “Through wisdom and compassion, to influence people’s lives for the better,” we offer courses for everyone, ranging from our advanced five year Buddhist Studies Program, through our intermediate two year Discovering Buddhism Program and a range of introductory programs for those new to Buddhism or simply curious about what it has to offer.
Our Buddhist program is complimented with a Wellbeing program that shares strategies for improving everyday physical and mental health including: stress reduction, improving communication, strengthening relationships, dealing with destructive emotions, as well as yoga, Ayurvedic and Tibetan medicine and indigenous approaches to health and the environment.
Both program streams share the intention of helping everyone lead richer, more meaningful and happier lives. The centre also provides a tranquil and supportive environment for those attending residential courses, retreats or simply needing respite from busy or difficult circumstances.
Chenrezig Institute also remains unique in Australia, and rare in the western world, in nurturing a thriving monastic community, and providing a comprehensive program of Dharma teachings at an advanced level. Through this program, Chenrezig Institute has a rich history of supporting other Dharma centres around the world by providing them with monks and nuns well educated and qualified to teach the Dharma.
