Vajrasattva Retreat 2021 – Letting Go and Starting Afresh
26 December @ 6:30 pm - 31 December @ 12:00 pm AEST$55
2021 has been a year of significant challenges for most people. The Vajrasattva Retreat offers a perfect way to leave the difficulties of the year behind with the powerful act of letting go, and to start the New Year with a fresh sense of peace, feeling inspired and motivated.
In Buddhist purification, we can let go of the past with mindfulness and awareness, and open up to the brightness and potential of the present moment. In this state of openness, we resolve to make beneficial changes in our lives which help increase our emotional and mental wellbeing.
Participants will be guided through a Buddhist method, reading from text called Vajrasattva Purification practice, which involves repeating prayers several sessions a day, some in English and some in Tibetan, with visualisation and mantra recitation. This method enables practitioners to skilfully regret wrongdoings, loosen our hold on the past, release anxieties and pain, and resolve to transform our efforts into benefitting ourselves and others.
With time for quiet reflection in beautiful surroundings, we start to notice how our state of mind and our relationships have been impacted by our responses to life, and we refresh ourselves with strong, positive mental habits. This transformative process clears the way for us to fully embrace a more relaxed, peaceful, and happy approach to life, which will benefit not only ourselves, but everyone in our lives.
Join us for this period of surrender, reflection and transformation in the peaceful setting of Chenrezig Institute. You will enjoy the tranquil ebb and flow of a traditional Buddhist retreat and be supported in your journey with like-minded people.
This retreat is suitable for beginners or experienced practitioners alike, but a basic understanding of karma will greatly benefit your time here. If you are not able to attend the whole retreat, please feel free to join for a day, or as many days as you can manage. All welcome!
