Medicine Buddha – to heal, nurture and purify

19 November @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm AEST

$30.00

About Event:

Ven Tony Beaumont returns with two days of instruction and practice 19th and 26th November.

The Medicine or Healing Buddha embodies the healing aspect of the mind and the practice is powerful for healing ourselves and others. It is particularly powerful during difficult times, especially for healing the heart and mind to help overcome negative patterns of thinking and develop the qualities of compassion and kindness.

The first Saturday (19 November) will focus on changing our understanding of the hurt we have experienced at the hands of others and bringing about a wiser approach to these with the aim of healing ourselves and others.

The second Saturday (26 November) will deal more with the harmful actions we have done to others and ourselves, and with cultivating a kinder approach in the process of purifying these.

Both days will include teaching, question/answer, and engaging in the meditation practice of Medicine Buddha.

Participants may attend either one or both days. All are welcome, the day is suitable for newer students and more experienced ones alike.

about teacher:

Ven Tony first made contact with the Buddha-dharma in Nepal and India in 1976. Following this, he trained and worked for four years as a psychiatric nurse, and then in the 1980s was based at Chenrezig Institute during which time he served at different times as the cook, office worker, and gardener.

Following ordination as a monk in 1991, he lived for seventeen years at Nalanda Monastery in France and served as director at Thubten Shedrup Ling monastery in Bendigo. He has led retreats and courses at various FPMT centres throughout the world, as well as teaching in prisons and schools. Ven Tony lived at Chenrezig Institute until recently and we are fortunate that he is now returning for these special teachings
