Geshe Tsultrim Lamrim
5 August @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm AEST
Geshe Tsultrim is unfortunately unwell and unable to give this teaching. Ven Kartson has kindly agreed to take his place.
The Friday teachings will cover many important topics such as, to name just a few, the Three Jewels: Buddha, Dharma and Sangha, the Four Noble Truths, Karma, The Nature of our Mind, Conventional and Ultimate Truth, Twelve Links of Dependent Origination and Bodhichitta.
The teachings will continue to refer to the Middling Lam Rim text, composed by Je Lama Tsongkhapa, as a basis for teaching this topic.
Geshe Phuntsok Tsultrim is immensely popular for the warm and approachable way in which he presents the Dharma and inspires our community. He became a monk at Sera Je Monastery in India, where he was awarded his Geshe degree (the equivalent of a doctorate in Buddhist studies) in 2005. He began teaching at Chenrezig Institute in 2014 after being chosen for our community by Lama Zopa Rinpoche. He teaches in Tibetan with the help of his professional translator, Ven. Kartson.
Geshe Tsultrim has a warm hearted, caring and practical approach to teaching Dharma. He has been the resident Geshe at Chenrezig Institute since 2014. Since then he has taught Dharma from both the Gompa and by the example he sets outside of the Gompa.
This week the teachings are offered by Ven Kartson – having met the Dharma in the mid 90s, he then moved to India in 2001 and studied conversational and classical Tibetan for four years. Having come to Chenrezig Institute in Australia as a translator in 2005, he is now translating for Geshe Tsultrim, as well as leading the Basic Study Program tutorials. He is a graduate of the Buddhist Studies Program and was ordained as a monk in 2014.
There is no need to register to attend these teachings – all are welcome to come along, but please consider making a donation to help Chenrezig Institute to continue to offer these teachings in person and online.
