Annual Nyung Nä Fasting and Purification Retreats 2022

29 May @ 6:30 pm - 15 June @ 12:00 pm AEST

$108.00 – $864.00
Nyung Na

About Event:

A Nyung Nä retreat is a two-day meditation, fasting and purification practice of Thousand-Armed Chenrezig, the Buddha of Compassion. It is an extremely powerful way to heal illnesses, purify negative karma and open the heart to compassion. It is an effective spiritual, mental and physical detox.

The series of Nyung Nä retreats (eight individual two-day retreats, back to back) starts with preparation and introduction on the afternoon/evening of 29 May 2022 and ends with the Big Breakfast on the morning after Saka Dawa on 15 June 2022.

Each two-day Nyung Nä involves taking the eight Mahayana precepts, doing prayers and mantra recitations and prostrations. The second day includes fasting for 24 hours (taking no food or water) and silence.

This year we are offering eight of these inspiring two-day retreats. Because of COVID considerations we are offering three alternatives.

Participants may choose to attend all eight (29/5 – 15/6), the final three (8/6 –  15/6), or to attend the final Nyung Nä only (12/6 – 15/6).

Even doing just one Nyung Nä is an extremely powerful method of purifying negativity and accumulating merit. No specific empowerments are needed.

About Teacher:

Ordained in 1987, Venerable Ailsa Cameron is a close student of Lama Zopa Rinpoche and has been editing his teachings since 1984 for the Lama Yeshe Wisdom Archive. Venerable Ailsa has led the annual Nyung Nä retreats at Chenrezig Institute for twenty-five years.

Make mountains of merit by sponsoring someone to attend…

If you are unable to attend these hugely beneficial retreats yourself at this very auspicious time, you could consider sharing the merit by sponsoring someone else to attend. Sponsor one retreat for one person, or any number of retreats for any number of people!

And on the other hand if you are struggling to cover the costs, please let us know and we’ll do our best to help you with reduced prices and keep an eye out for possible sponsorships.

Contact [email protected] either way.

Register to attend all eight Nyung Nä Retreats:

Those planning to attend all eight of the Nyung Näs will be given priority. We will open registration from 1 March and only those intending to attend all 8 retreats will be able to register and book their accommodation until Tuesday 12 April.

After that date people wishing to attend the final three Nyung Näs and the final Nyung Nä will be able to register if places still remain.

The number of participants will now be capped at 28 (lifted from 20 because of the loosening of covid restrictions), so the number of places available for the final retreats will depend on the number registering for the full eight retreats.

The charge for the eight Nyung Näs is $864 (ie $108 for each one) which includes food and accommodation. Accommodation will be allocated after registration.

Contact [email protected] if you have any queries or wish to apply for financial assistance.

On line bookings will no longer be possible. People do sometimes have to cancel however so please contact [email protected] if you would like to put your name on a waiting list.  There may be a few more places open up over the weeks before the starting date.
