How to get here
OUR ADDRESS
Chenrezig Institute
33 Johnsons Road, Eudlo, QLD, 4554
Please note:
If using GPS enter Chenrezig Institute instead of the road name and number. This should ensure you are directed here on sealed roads. Using the street name may take you down extensive local dirt roads. Alternatively, choose sealed roads only in your device.
travelling by train
The nearest train station is at Eudlo, about 7km away. Eudlo is served by the Sunshine Coast line, from Brisbane via Caboolture. There is an automated machine at the station to top-up your Go Card and basic toilet facilities in the nearby park.
Train timetables can be viewed at the Translink website or phone 13 12 30 for information.
There is no public transport to Chenrezig from Eudlo and unfortunately we cannot offer a pick-up service. Eudlo does not have a taxi rank. To avoid a long wait for a taxi, we recommend you pre-book a taxi to meet the arrival of your train. Eudlo is a small settlement, with just a general store, post office, and cafe.

IF ARRIVING AT SUNSHINE COAST AIRPORT
The closest airport is at Maroochydore (Sunshine Coast Airport), a 35 minute drive away. There is no direct public transport from the airport to Eudlo or Chenrezig. Taxi is the only way to get here. Check here for a Uber estimate. A public bus service goes from the airport to Maroochydore, but you would still need to arrange a taxi from Maroochydore to Chenrezig.
IF ARRIVING AT BRISBANE AIRPORT
Brisbane Airport is about 22 minutes from Brisbane city and has a direct connection to the Sunshine Coast train line via the Airtrain line, changing lines at Eagle Junction station. The train journey from the airport (domestic and international) to Eudlo takes between 1.5 – 2.5 hours, depending on the connection. At Eudlo, you would need to hire a taxi to Chenrezig, which is 7kms away. To avoid a long wait, ensure you pre-book a taxi to pick you up at Eudlo station . We are in a very secluded area and taxis need to travel some distance to the station. There is no taxi rank at Eudlo.
IF HIRING A CAR AT BRISBANE AIRPORT
The trip from Brisbane by car takes about two hours or more, depending on traffic.
travelling by car
As we are in a relatively secluded spot we have attempted to give the best possible directions below. If you don’t have GPS or Google/Apple maps, the written instructions are quite detailed.
When using a GPS or navigation app like Google/Apple maps we recommend you enter Chenrezig Institute rather than our street address. Navigation systems often show the route through Mooloolah via Neil Road/Brooks Road, but we do not recommend this route. It’s a gravel road, at times narrow and windy.
Make your way to Eudlo township by any of the following routes:
via Chevallum/Palmwoods coming from Bruce Highway Exit 201 (Forest Glen) coming north or from the south – Chevallum/Mons Road.
via Ilkley Road coming from Forest Glen or Sippy Downs.
via Eudlo-Mooloolah Road coming from Landsborough/Mooloolah
When you reach the township of Eudlo, enter Highlands Road (entrance is between the tennis court and public school). You should see a blue Chenrezig Institute road sign on a pole.
Travel along Highlands Road for 4km. At the end of the sealed road turn left onto Rambert Road. There should be a blue Chenrezig Institute road sign.
After about 2km, pass under the high voltage power line and keep going straight to Chenrezig Institute following the timber CHENREZIG sign on your right.
After a short drive you will pass under a Tibetan welcome gate. Continue up the hill until you reach the first of two car parks. The steps in between the two car parks lead up to Chenrezig.
Disabled access: people with disabilities or difficulties walking up the long main stairs can drive to the drop-off / disabled parking zone close to reception by following the driveway on the left of the main stairs, signposted authorised vehicles only.
IMPORTANT
Rambert Road does NOT connect to the Maleny-Montville Rd, as indicated in some maps. Access to villages on the range is via Palmwoods or Mooloolah.
