Situated in newly restored and enlarged
facilities beneath the Gompa, our Library is a unique resource. Now a
part of the Dharma Study Centre it offers visitors the opportunity to
browse through a collection of over 1800 titles on all aspects of
Buddhism with an emphasis on the Buddhism of Tibet. We have books for
all levels, from the casual enquirer to the most advanced student.
The Library also holds a number of
texts on other topics such as psychology, philosophy, spirituality,
other religions and alternative therapies.
As well as the Library we now have an
adjoining study area offering quiet reading, study and meditation
facilities. The study area is open all day every day.
Chenrezig Library is staffed by a
dedicated group of volunteers and is open at the following times.
Weekdays:
Wednesday – 12 noon – 2:30pm
Thursday - Sunday - 1:00 pm –
3.30pm
Evenings:
Friday – Sunday – 7:00pm –
8.30pm
Closed:
Monday and Tuesday
Teachers, Sangha, Chenrezig Arms
members and residents have automatic borrowing rights. Separate
Library membership is also available. Overnight guests may borrow –
but must return items before departure.
