Lama Yeshe’s Big Love Café offers delicious, vegetarian food to the whole Chenrezig Institute community. Our vegetarian cooking is renowned for its quality and variety. It provides a relaxed, comfortable environment to enjoy a meal, cup of tea, coffee (espresso, latte, etc), delectable sweets and a space to connect with other people at the centre.
The Big Love Café is open 7:00am – 6:30pm from Wednesday to Sunday.

On Thursday nights, we can provide soup and plunger coffee for people attending the 7:00PM teachings with Geshe Jamyang. Please book in advance with reception.
Breakfast is a selection of cereals, toast and fruit and provides a healthy start to each day.
Lunch is the main meal at Chenrezig Institute and is always a well balanced, healthy vegetarian delight. Bookings for lunch are required by 10am on the day you would like to eat. You can make your bookings by calling us on 5453 2108, leaving us a message on the message bank or sending an email to
with the following information: *your name* *contact details INCLUDING PHONE NUMBER* *number of people eating* *any dietary requirements*. Please note, we greatly appreciate a last-minute cancellation, in the event you change plans.
Supper is a light meal of generally soup and toast to end the day.
The Big Love Café is able to provide wheat free, gluten free, diary free lunches only. We are unable to provide meals to meet the needs of other dietary requirements and breakfasts and suppers are not wheat or gluten free. We can store food for you if you would like to bring your own food along to meet other specific dietary needs.
A selection of teas, coffee and sweets are available outside of our specific meal times.
The Big Love Café could not have asked for a more auspicious start; with Lama Yeshe himself cooking for students when the centre first started. Since then, a number of talented, creative cooks and volunteer staff have provided food to the Chenrezig Institute community from this amazing kitchen.
This tradition of providing delicious food in a mindful and loving manner is still continuing and we look forward to sharing a meal and time with you at the Big Love Café in the future.
Thanks to your kind donations, the Lama Yeshe Big Love Cafe has recently finished paying for a new coffee grinder and we are currently raising runds for a new stove/oven. Any donation to the kitchen is greatly apprececiated. We are also very grateful to the many individuals who have donated time and equipment.
